Liverpool finished only one point off champions Manchester City last season and will try to down the Canaries in their first match.

Liverpool has had the upper hand as far as recent meetings go—the Reds have scored five goals in four of their previous six meetings against the Norfolk outfit. Neutrals will hope for a repeat of the 5-4 thriller Liverpool won in Jan. 2016, marking the last time these two teams clashed.

It works in the Reds’ favor that they’re undefeated in their previous 38 home Premier League matches, so anything other than victory will be considered a failure on Friday.

Norwich ran to the Championship crown last season under Daniel Farke. Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp is excited to face Norwich, especially because of his relationship with many of the players.

“He [Farke] is doing an incredible job and a lot of my former players played for Norwich by the way Mario Vrancic, Marco Stiepermann, Christoph Zimmerman, Moritz Leitner,” Klopp told the media. “We became champions together, which was really a good time, so I am looking forward to seeing them and meeting Daniel Farke for the first time.”

Liverpool lost the Community Shield to Manchester City on Sunday, but have the opportunity to restore faith at home to Norwich.
